O maimuta cu nume de brand… Un online-casino a platit $650.000 pentru ca o specie de maimuta sa primeasca numele de GoldenPalace.com, nume oficial. Interesant din punct de vedere al advertisingului, dar din punct de vedere uman doar o combinatie de grotesc cu amuzant… Dar, in definitv, oamenii si-au atins scopul, nu-i un lucru care sa treaca neobservat, si pentru un site asta nu poate fi decat bine. Plus, a devenit numele oficial al speciei, care (in conditii normale) n-o sa se schimbe generatii intregi…
The GoldenPalace.com Monkey (Callicebus aureipalatii, “aureipalatii” meaning “of the Golden Palace”) is a titi, a kind of New World monkey, found in western Bolivia‘s Madidi National Park.
The GoldenPalace.com Monkey has orangish brown fur, a characteristic golden crown, a white tip on its tail, and dark red hands and feet. Like other titis, they are monogamous, mating for life. They maintain their territories against other pairs of titis primarily through territorial calling. The male titis usually carry their infants until they can survive on their own.
The species was discovered on a research expedition instigated by Dr. Robert Wallace of the Wildlife Conservation Society. The field expedition team, consisting of Annika M. Felton, Adam Felton, and Ernesto Cáceres, were the first researchers to film and record this species, previously unknown to science. Rather than choosing a name themselves, Wallace, his team, and WCS auctioned off the naming rights to raise funds for FUNDESNAP (Fundación para el Desarrollo del Sistema Nacional de Áreas Protegidas), the nonprofit organization that maintains Madidi National Park. GoldenPalace.com, one of over a dozen bidders, paid US$ 650,000.

In fine, mie mi se pare o miscare desteapta, dar enervanta in acelasi timp. Buna pentru ca e creativa si benefica atat pentru brand dar probabil si pentru mamiferu’ respectiv (sa fim seriosi, cate specii de maimute stiti?), rea pentru ca e inca o demonstratie a transformarii advertisingului intr-o chestie al naibii de intrusive, mi-e frica de ziua cand un nebun va decide ca i-a ajuns, va lua o arma si va reedita the Columbine massacre, doar ca intr-o agentie de publicitate…
Apropo, eu mi-am promis ca nu mai iau in viata mea un produs Nivea for Men de cand cu video-ul ala super-enervant care porneste singur de pe gsp.ro. Ca sa vedeti ca uneori e bine sa mai lasi consumatorul in pace.
